Cotopaxi volcano at dawn

The Cotopaxi volcano at 6:30 A.M. View from the south of Quito. This image holds a sentimental value to me because it is one of the first pictures I realized when I took back the photograph in Ecuador with my, at that time, brand new first DLSR. This was taken at 6:30 AM.

“Of all the colossal peaks of the Andes, the Cotopaxi has the most beautiful and the most regular of the forms.” – Alexander Von Humboldt

Located southeast of Quito, the capital of Ecuador, this peak culminates at 5897 m and is the highest active volcano in the world.
