Volcanoes and mountains landscape photos, Andes mountain range, South America

Mountains have always had a great impact on me.

I was a mountain guide for many years. I was out going to amazing mountain peaks. I always wanted to share those exceptional places through beautiful mountain landscape pictures. And it is certainly thanks to the mountains that I became a landscape photographer.
Photographing mountain landscapes still cause me great excitement and emotions. I hope to transmit a little of those feelings in those mountain scene images.

The Andes are the world’s longest continental mountain range on Earth. It’s a mountainous and volcanoes spine stretching for over 7,500km from north to south along the western coast of South America. The Andean cordilleras are crossing seven countries: Venezuela, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia, Chile and Argentina.
The great majority of the Andean peaks are volcanic. The two highest active volcanoes in the world are found here. Ojos del Salado, the highest one, 6,900m, is found along the Chilean – Argentina border. The second highest in the world and easiest to reach, is the Cotopaxi, 5897m, and is only 45km southeast of the Ecuadorian capital, Quito.
